One of my customers wanted to have spoken text on his webpage. Having no idea about Flash & Co. I found this neat solution: Use a WordPress-Plugin to do the job.
“Selenium IDE is an integrated development environment for Selenium tests. It is implemented as a Firefox extension, and allows you to record, edit, and debug tests. Selenium IDE includes the entire Selenium Core, allowing you to easily and quickly record and play back tests in the actual environment that they will run.”
Watching the short tutorial Video will give you an idea how the Firefox-plugin Selenium-IDE records UI-actions while you surf&click which you can base your tests upon.
XPath Checker is a Firefox plugin that lets you mark areas in a webpage and returns the appropriate XPath query to select this bit. You can then change the query to see the selected values.
Info taken from the plugin download page:
“ClearForest Gnosis is the cutting edge of real time semantic processing for the web. By evaluating the pages you read – as you read them – Gnosis immediately locates key information such as people, organizations, companies, products and geographies hidden within the text.”
“By simply hovering over any of the identified topics, you can immediately locate relevant news, blog entries, maps, company information and Wikipedia entries.”
Goto: Firefox-Plugin Gnosis
In search for being able to include video and audio material in a wordpress blog I came across the WordPress Media Center plugin of Alex Rabe. It adds a menu item Manage/Media Center to your admin area. Check it out.
To generate the desired video formats you can for example use “Internet Video Converter”.
